What to look for in a wired keyboard

Consider a few factors as you’re browsing your options for wired keyboards:

• Switch type: Go for mechanical switches for classic, tactile feel, optical switches for ultra-fast, adjustable actuation, or rubber-dome for a familiar, productivity-oriented feel.
• Software features: Look closely at what kinds of OS-level customization you can do.
• Design: Choose from multiple colors, and check the RGB LED capabilities.
• Extra accessories: Do you want a built-in wrist rest or dedicated media controls?

Are wired mechanical keyboards better for gaming?

The general, agreed-upon consensus for ultra-fast response times is to go for wired peripherals. That’s because you don’t need to wait for Bluetooth or even the faster 2.4-gigahertz wireless protocol to register your keystrokes. In general, this means that you’ll find the fastest response times with a wired keyboard. However, you can still get excellent response times with wireless keyboards if they use CORSAIR’s leading wireless connectivity. However, a wired-only keyboard does tend to be a bit more affordable.
